A new piece inspired by Corinne Bailey Rae's song "Put your records on."

This is another piece I made for the artist of the month. I painted the entire dream box in white gesso. Two times.

Then I painted it all with blue sky and white clouds. Next I chose the pictures from my artchix collages. Two were from feathered friends and the other was fromone of the newer egg sheets,

My next step was adding the silver german scrap borders from Art Chix and the script German scrap scripts from Lisa Bush. Then I sealed it all with a flat matte. After the flat matte dried I added a bit more paint over the silver scrap to make them blend but to bring out the shine again I sand papered all of it wherever the scrap was, to make it all peek through and gave it a nice sculpture effect.Next I added the pictures and the real bird call and actual instructions that came with the old bird caller. It was a perfect fit in the little dome shell on top center. I typed out and printed the words from the song from my word program. Gelled them down and added some bright pink florescant paint around the edges. I glued down all the flowers for a touch more color and pazazz. Next I used a black vellum pen and drew lines around the words to make them pop. Lastly I added the mushroom birds for a 3d effect! Also to mimic the song one more time!

Nothing here yet but by the days end I must have new art!

A day late but better late then never. I call this piece Keeper Of Forgotten Keys! She was very photogenic so I tooks several and wanted you all to see how cool she will look just about anywhere. I bought this old door piece at an outside antique sale for like a buck, it had cob webs in it and some spiders eggs...gross huh. All for arts sake I scrubbed it out and got rid of all those critters. Then I loved the old crackle look so much I decided to keep that.. I simply washed iot let it dry and sealed it well with a gel medium/my fav!

Then I made my ArtChix fairy doll. With an ArtChix head(isn't she beautiful) she is from one of the doll pieces sheets as are her legs!
Those are some ArtChix keys mixe with som Holees keys to give it a varied look. I made the key chain out of wire and bent it all myself until I liked the way it looked!
The dress is made from one of those paper stacks that are on sale all over the place in art stores these days. The black and white letter edition. I drew her hands as they had to be holding the key ring.
The wings are from an ArtChix Wings transparency sheet and under them to make them stand out I used a heart shaped doiley cut in haly, some gold German scrap to tip them off(also Artchix)
There was a missing shell cover over the hole so I found the perfect collage match from a Tuscan Rose sheet I had bought some time agao. I added that and some brads, smacked those brad up real good with a Tim Holtz textured hammer. Love that look. Then I added a few more bits from tuscan Rose and did the same with more brads and the special hammer.

I hope ya all like this one I do. I need to find the perfect poem now for the back of this piece. I think hung in the proper place this would make an excellent Key holder/rest!

Garrett had his last day of Pre K!

So here's Garrett hugging his teacher goodbye. Garrett is going to miss this daycare. It's the only one he's ever known. It's called Little Arrows Daycare and it's a Christian based teaching which my husband and I really have loved our selves over the years. All three of our children went here and they all learned many good things about God and reading.

Miss Pat was great she was strict but really loves the kids at the same time. A nice lady with a great sense of humor and she really loved our Garrett. One could tell because Garrett loved her back. Miss Pat does foster care too whenever she's not at work always has she just can't get enough kids I guess. Garrett and I saw her the other day at our dentist too, Garrett was so excited to see his friend there. Miss Pat knows our dentist from her church she says he's a decon there. The dentist is so funny he looks just like and sound exactly like Al from Home Improvements funny thing is he name is Doctor Wilson like their neighbor. What a way to confuse and dyslexic!

The little girl with the glasses is name Shaley and real sweetheart! I always wanted to call her Shelby for some reason. I finally get her name and we have to leave, such is life.

These little boys became endeared to Garrett and he called them his dudes! They called him their dudes too. I think it started out that way because they couldn't remember each others name but then it was deffinetely a term of endearment and affection.

This is Garrett with his Joey and little paper Kangaroo they would always put on a board so everyone would know they were there and as a way to start learning name recognition! Garrett wasn't ever gonna leave without his Joey! How about a group hug I said????????

Look at my little stinker holding his nose? I wonder who he thought was smelly all of em or a girl?

Here he is saying me you want me to hug everyone!

Here are Sulli and Andrew, two of Garretts favs!

Isn't that little girl adorable, she reminds me of Darla of the Little Rascles!

Lunch time Garrett never ate lunch there as he was only there three half days a week. One time I had a doctors appointment and he loved eating with his friends!

Something I made for my ArtChix artist or the month!

I actually love how this one came out! Thanks so much to Helga one of my greates mentors! Man that woman can collage! I made this from inspiration from Helga too as she recently went to Paris, amsterdam too that lucky chic!

First I tried one of Helgas newest challenges of placing old reciepts all ove the surface of my canvas. Then I used some magazines I bought from collage stuff, with all kinds of styles and art Neaveau ladies dresses and face from like the 50's! They come through a bit on the finished piece too because I loved that look. So thatnks to Lisa Bush too and all her great shopping.
Next step I painted the entire piece lightly with white gesson and a light blue acrylic paint.
Then I arranged all my twinchies inchies a few odd shapes and my lazor cut eiffle tower. Bought that a while back now I wish I have more of them! Then my next step was griding it all off another of Helga's challenges. For this I also took Helgas favorite technique of using watercolor crayons. I used blues and red thus the title Rosa et Bleu. Finalizing the grid part with black water color pencil. I was lovong this piece with every step more and more and I was really praying to God it would come out well!
I then sprayed the entire piece with fixative and reworked any blurring with my crayons and pencil.
I added a few real 3 d antique buttons all around at different intervals mostly on the sides top and bottom, a few to intigrate the bopttom French ArtChix collage bit.
Finally I added some neat rubons with French letters and words! Isn't it neat! Don't know if I'll be able to part with this one even my family loves it!
