A little something added to my latest artwork!

second stage of the art piece

My son made a shop to sell his goods outside my bedroom door (A Garage Sale!) The trash barrel is all bent out of shape from the times he threw it down the stairs when he was mad at me for telling him to empty his trash!!!! LOL / SERIOUSLY!

He was a little mad at me because I tried his crayon to see if I wanted to purchase it then said I wasn't going to because it was used! hahaha!!!! I am so mean! I love my boyski!!!
Molly is so old but she still wants to be a part of everything we do.

Today was a good art day! Kids came over for a lesson...

we worked with wood icing on canvas, and talked about layering. Their mom is joining in on this exercise as well! They are teaching me how to teach.
Me and the two children I teach art with, enjoying their candy filled mason jar sewing kits!

I finished my Genesis painting! All sealed with gloss  Golden gel this time and then a layer or Dorland's wax!

Genesis in whole.

Kids and their mom seeing their Valentines gifts.

Had to add some CANDY!

Beginning stages of my newest canvas. Showing how I use Wood Icing for texture!

Happy Valentines Day, to all my lovies out there in blog land!

I almost sat on this which is ironic because once I eat it I will be sitting on it! Thanks honey!
Guess after I said I didn't need jewellry he thought a giant box of chocolates was getting off easy?

To two of my sweethearts!
One of my sweeties has a lot of allergies, so I had to look in four stores before I found the smarties he loves so much! These are mason jars I filled with candy they love and then decorated the outside with paper tape and felt and old buttons plus a neat pin cushion on top. Later after the candy is gone they can fill them, with a tiny sewing kit.

I sewed their names into the tops after they eat their candies it can be mini sewing kits with a pin cushion on top!

My hubby gave me one dozen roses. they smell so fresh and divine!

My son had a snow day so together we made Valentine cookies! Yummers!
My son decorated these with sprinkles and candies after I made the cookies and frosted them. He also helped cutting them with the cookie cutters, it was fun. I like it when my cookie is home with me. This made Valentines day extra special. I gave him a lego gift , a giant Hershey kiss, and a sweet little love tolken from the dollar store..
After dinner comp time!!!!

The tapestry that Wood Icing makes!

I used a Stadler black ink pen and a black sharpie to write the words over and over with each new layer, trying to get just the right outcome.

I will eventually seal it with Golden gel Matte medium I think, possibly a glossy because that would look so cool and make the dimension's really pop!

OK so now I have added a layer of wood icing and than painted over that. Thus the butterfly effect!! How cool is that? I just love how it came out! I also added bits on the apples to give them a little swirl, some on the noses to make them more three dimensional, and if you look closely you can see it in the lion's mane and all through out over the leaves and even on the fingers of the hands!
Next to God is the tree of Life, God is "The Word", and next to Eve is the tree of "Knowledge of good and evil".

You can see here that God's hand encompass "The Garden of Eden", and outside of them is a symbolic earth design. This is to show God made everything, plus I love how everything exists inside of itself. God, man and the universe are from one being, yet  we are not bound by one dimension. There is so much more, it is both physical and spiritual.
I had to add the whispering snake who tempted Eve who tempted Adam.Nasty snake and look at that smirk!

Look at the textures from the wood icing topped with acrylic paint.
I signed it already but still have more to add!

I thought and though about how to cover the Eve's bottom. My eyes kept going to the main of the male lion and so my butterflies are mimics of the lions main.

My husband came over to the painting and said: "Adams foot is broken looking"!
I said: "Ya so?" Many of my works have twisted body parts. I love how they make you think and ask questions, in this case think about it. God put Adam to sleep and then he created Eve out of Adams rib. Adam did not feel a thing how do we even know what his body looked like when this was being done? Plus I thought it made for more drama in fitting Adam into my painting!

I am enjoying this process and watching the outcome, and praying for divine inspiration as I go along.

Worked some on my Genesis painting

OK so there's some color and I changed the animals up a bit too!I need to clean up the words of God still.

The giraffes face needs some work and the elephants wrinkly skin.
I added some flowers of paradise.
Gave cool texture with wood icing which I love.

These will change but I like this look too!
I love the colors I used and the painterly apples. Thanks God for giving me such inspiration!

As you can see I am adding color and detail, layers and texture too! See the snake whispering in Eves ear
