Tags I made this month!

Using old scraps and some post its I doodled upon, and a few other odds and ends. Another inspiration from LIFEBOOK 2015! These tags were mostly about using one word sentiments mixed with some easy art and stitching!!!
Two Peas In A Pod

is give peas a chance!
A sacred heart I gessoed under and stitched around and on top of! Simple but beautiful!

Sewing pattern

back of simplicity

Pattern yourself after The LORD

Love the Spirit, this was to mean God's Spirit, but we should also love the Spirit within ourselves, she is part of us. If we love God so is He!
An empty cutout left over from an old art project! Never waste materials!
Since these pieces were mostly one word statements, I loved using the preexisting words of the patterns.
Peace with GOD
The above tag was made using an old post it note I doodled upon and  thought could be  used for a future piece of art inspiration. IT WAS!!! Than I just added the bottom to bring continuity to this piece.

You are Loved
I made these stitches on my sewing machine, I love that it has some fancy buttons! I used an old piece of dyed silk someone had sent to me in swaps for the top tag and for the bottom tag I simply used a cut out piece of canvas and embroidered all around its edges! The 'You' and "Seamless" are magazine cut outs and the "ly" for the word seamlessly was from a separate word I stuck on at the end to make my own word.

Christmas prayer angel

I sometimes cut out old pictures from Christmas cards and save them for future use, as is the case with the front of my prayer tag. I painted over her though making it my own version and giving her wings and a halo. For the back of the prayer tag I used scripture from my great aunts bible and used an old collage sheet that was pre drawn. However I also painted over her image and added arms and hands she's now unique and not plagiarism.

This one was also a post it note doodle and says a scripture from the bible;"God knew me from the beginning I was knit into my mothers womb, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. The bottom word came from a pair of jean looking fancy paper it was the leather sewn on pretend tag.
Back of Alive

Share The head on this "SHARE" tag was also a doodle on a post it note I painted a top of, ten for the bottom half of the tag I made the body arm and hand with the "Share" word. I love how this one came out!
The miracle tag was made using a copy of one of my older artist trading cards, and I repainted it to make it appear and actually be original. I added scrap papers and paint colors and a feather I had just   floating  constantly around me in my studio. The words and letters are simply magazine cut outs. All of my tags are the manilla types with both front and back sewed together. I intend to make copies and sell them as packs with the tops being an original in each packet.

This was an old scraped mermaid I had originally felted for a journal for a friend but I hated how long her arms were so I never used her in the journal. She took time though(and I kind of liked her as an individual) so I decided to keep her for later. Well later came and here she is, the letters were from a magazine but I cut them and fitted them best to look relaxed. I sewed all across the front of the tag and so after adding the letters I simply took a caran d'ACHE and colored over the stitching outdents to make it  appear like flowing water! I love her and she is even better in person!
another back with great aunts scriptures,an inspiration for the tag receiver but easy to script a love note over,or word of encouragement

Believe and Hope

back of believe and hope

This is a merman I tried hard to make beautiful but well it never really did, it's kind of an ugly guy. So he won't be going into the packet. Anyone want him,? If you do leave a comment and I may give him to you, if more than one person answers I will do a random drawing. Sometimes things I think are uggo other happen to love? Go figure!
